Who this is for
The material is aimed at quantity surveyors, cost managers, estimators and commercial managers — in private practice, with a contractor, or client-side. No technical or coding background is assumed. If you are comfortable with a spreadsheet and a web browser, you can work through every module at your own pace.
Why AI matters for cost and commercial work
The day-to-day of a QS is full of tasks that modern AI is genuinely good at: reading long documents, drafting first versions of letters and reports, summarising correspondence, and spotting outliers across a pile of tender returns. Used well, it gives back hours that used to disappear into re-measuring, re-keying and normalising data by hand — time you can spend on cost advice, risk and commercial judgement instead.
The catch is that the same tools can be confidently wrong, can leak confidential tender or contract data, and carry no professional accountability of their own. The skill this course builds is using AI deliberately: knowing which tasks suit it, which do not, and how to check its output before it reaches a client, a valuation or a tender report.

Together the modules add up to roughly fourteen hours of structured, self-paced learning, plus a final assessment, a glossary, a starter prompt library and a list of sources.
